ISTANBUL CARPET EXPORTERS ASSOCIATION


Istanbul Carpet Exporters’ Association, is one of the most important and symbol organizations of Turkish carpet and rug sector. Istanbul has an important share in carpet trade and Istanbul Carpet Exporters’ Association has vital role in the Turkish carpet industry.

Istanbul Carpet Exporters’ Association, founded in 1989, is one of the four export associations under the General Secretariat of Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters Associations.

Istanbul Carpet Exporters’ Association has about 500 registered member companies mostly located around Istanbul. Istanbul Carpet Exporters’ Association represents Turkish carpet industry extensively since the member companies of the Association carry out nearly %20 percent of Turkey’s total carpet exports and almost all handmade carpet export of Turkey.

Istanbul Carpet Exporters’ Association’s main goal is to enhance the export capability of Turkey in carpet goods and promote Turkish carpet sector around the world. Besides, Istanbul Carpet Exporters’ Association also supports its members in all kinds of trade related activities.

Moreover, Istanbul Carpet Exporters’ Association, aims to promote common interests of the sector in both national and international platforms as well as in governmental levels.

Istanbul Carpet Exporters’ Association, performs following activities in order to achieve the goals mentioned above:

    1.PROMOTION
  • Organizing national participation to international fairs in USA, Europe and all over the world to promote Turkish carpet goods.
  • Arranging trade delegations for target markets.
  • Established research-development center, which is believed to play an important role in promoting innovative products.
    2.DESIGN
  • Held carpet designer contests and trend seminars for young talents each year.
  • Encourage and support design capacity of the sector.
  • Held a carpet restoration project that aims to support sector with qualified staff.
    3.TRAINING
  • Organizing training programmes about foreign trade, marketing, market research etc.
  • Preparing sectoral market reports.
  • Arranging informative seminars and meetings.
    4.REPRESENTING
  • Representing the sector nationally and internationally in the relevant platforms in order to raise the issues that the sector confronts and pursuing the interests of the sector.
